The body of Binod Das was recovered after breaking the lock of the box which was also in his his locked house.
While the man was living in one room of the house, four youths were staying on rent in another room. The youths were not in the house when police reached there, said Sub Divisional Police Officer, Bhanjanagara, R.Ch Behera.
The man was living alone in the house, while his son was working in the police department in Bhubaneswar. His wife had died some years ago.
Bad smell was emanating from the house when we reached there. After searching, we found the body in the locked box.
Police said they were looking for the youth who were staying in the house on rent. "We are trying to ascertain their identity first," he said.
