Kumar, in his letter to Irani, said it is painful that even after seven years, the decision on the location of Central University, proposed to be set up in Kangra district, is hanging fire due to political wrangling.
"The matter has already been delayed inordinately. Now the state government has sent the proposal to the Centre and has committed that it is ready to provide more land than required under the norms," he said.
"The land identified and proposed is government land and there would be no problem in its transfer as no land is to be acquired and no compensation would be required to be paid," the BJP leader said.
"The proposed site is just 15 km from Dharamsala, already on the international tourism map due to the seat of Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama and an international cricket stadium and the central University would add another feather to its cap," Kumar said.
