Expo to promote trade between China and Arab states begin

An exposition to promote trade relations between China and Arab states started today in northwest China.
The first China-Arab States Expo started in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, home to more than 10 per cent of China's 20 million Muslim with foreign leaders like King Abdullah II Bin Al-Hussein of Jordan, King Sheikh Hamad bin Isa Al-khalifa of Bahrain and Vanuatu's Prime Minister Moana Carcasses Kalosil attending the opening ceremony.
More than 7,300 domestic and overseas officials, exhibitors, purchasers and investors from Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Kuwait and other countries are participating in the event that will run till September 19 in the Ningxia's capital Yinchuan, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.
The expo is jointly sponsored by China's Ministry of Commerce, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and the government of Ningxia.
Its predecessor, China(Ningxia) International Investment and Trade Fair and the China-Arab States Economic and Trade Forum, has been held annually since 2010.
China is an important commercial partner of Kuwait with a trade value between the two standing at USD 12.5 billion in 2012.
According to the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, Kuwait has invested USD 887 million in 35 projects in China during the past 30 years.
