Yesterday, the Union Minister of State for Agriculture was the chief guest at the Mahapanchayat in Hazrat Nagar Ghari village here.
He allegedly lost his cool when the group of farmers led by Bhartiya Kisan Union leader Harpal Singh started protest on some issues.
"Listen Harpal the number of people you have brought, similar number of people smoke "hukka" at my place. I have ploughed more field than you," the minister said .
Earlier, Balyan said that the Centre was providing compensation for crop loss at the rate of Rs 13,500 per hectare and Rs 18,000 for potato crop.
The minister said that dues of cane farmers was stuck with the sugar mills and if not paid at the earliest the mills would be auctioned.
He said that soon the Centre would send subsidy on urea directly in the bank accounts of the farmers.
He said that if CBI inquiry was not conducted then police recruitment would be cancelled when his party comes to power in the state and action would be taken against guilty.
On land acquisition bill, the minister said that some persons were misleading the farmers.
The minister said that not a single inch of land would be given to businessmen and acquisition would be done only for railway line and roads.
He also said that a memorial of Chaudhary Charan Singh would be constructed in Delhi.
