A fact-finding committee, set up by Ravenshaw University here to probe the allegations and counter allegations made by a male and a female teacher of the varsity's Hindi department, submitted its report to Vice Chancellor Prakash Chandra Sarangi today.
"The Committee has given a clean chit to Assistant Professor Abhishek Sharma and found Associate Professor Anjuman Ara guilty of slapping Sharma and bringing false and malicious allegations against him," Prof Sarangi said.
He said appropriate action will be taken against the guilty teacher.
Sharma last month had complained to the vice chancellor stating that he was slapped in the presence of some students by Ara without any provocation. Ara, on the other hand had alleged that Sharma had made certain obscene gestures at her for which she had reacted.
Both the teachers had also brought similar charges and counter charges against each other six months ago and police complaints were made.
The local Mahila police after investigating into both the complaints had dismissed them as the allegations were found baseless.
"A charge sheet will be handed over to the concerned teacher and she will be given an opportunity to defend herself at an appropriate forum as per the provisions of Odisha Education (Amendment) Act of 2005," the vice chancellor said.
