Fagu Chauhan resigns from UP Assembly after appointment as Bihar guv

After his appointment as Bihar Governor, BJP leader Fagu Chauhan resigned as MLA from the Uttar Pradesh Assembly on Friday.

A six-time MLA, Chauhan (71) was appointed as governor of Bihar last week by the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

"Chauhan, who was the BJP MLA from Ghosi, has resigned. His resignation has been accepted," a source in the assembly said.

In his resignation letter to the Speaker, Chauhan said, "I resign as member of the House from July 26 evening."
