"If the farmers of Singur can get back their land, the rule should be applicable for us and we also want the state government to return our land in Rajarhat New Town area," slogan shouting farmers with placards, said.
The demonstration was peaceful for a brief period, DC (Headquarters) of Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate, Nishant Parvez said, adding a representation of the farmers gave their deputation to the West Bengal Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation (HIDCO) authority to place their demands.
Like in Singur, plots of agriculture land under the entire Rajarhat New Town area were acquired from farmers by the then Left Front government.
