Female decadal growth higher than men in Arunachal

Arunachal Pradesh recorded women's decadal growth rate higher than that of men during the decade 2001-11.
The female decadal growth rate was 29.30 per cent, while that of men was 23.10 per cent, according to the Primary Census Abstract (PCA) Data that was released here yesterday.
During the decade, population of the state grew 26.03 per cent against 27.00 per cent in the previous decade.
The total population of the state as per the 2011 census is 13,83,727, an increase of 2,85,759 persons in absolute numbers of population during the decade.
The highest decadal growth in population has been recorded in Kurung Kumey district (113.5 per cent), followed by Papum Pare (51) and Tirap (47).
During the period, the growth rate of child population (3.07) is very nominal, according to the data.
Ten districts have shown negative growth rate compared to 2001. The 10 districts are West Siang, Upper Siang, East Siang, West Kameng, Dibang Valley, Lohit, Tawang, Tirap, Anjaw and Lower Dibang Valley.
Joint director of census operations, Bharati Chanda said the PCA data was the first set of final data from the population enumeration exercise held in February 2011.
"The data released from Census 2011 pertained to house listing and housing census covering all households," she said.
The data showed decadal increase of total number of households in the state by 25.51 per cent.
