File detailed report on properties of man: HC to PP

:Madras High Court today directed the Public Prosecutor to file a detailed report on properties of a man, who has allegedly cquired thousands of acres of land and reportedly regularly in touch with many top Police officials.
Justice N Kirubakaran gave this direction after perusing an affidavit filed DGP as per its directions in connection with crimes committed in real estate transaction business for the past 10 years in Tamil Nadu.
The court also directed the DGP to file more particulars in connection with the offenses, including that of murders that took place in connection with the business in Tamil Nadu.
The Judge had on Oct 20 2014 passed orders on a Criminal Original Petition by one Jainab Beevi and eight others and transferred probe from police to CBI. He had directed the DGP to submit a detailed report on murders and kidnappings committed for the past 10 years on real estate transactions.
The matter relates to the murder of one K Jamal Mohamed in connection with a real estate transaction. He was abducted by one Mohammed Sithik, District President of "Tamizhaga Makkal Jananayaka Katchi" and others and later murdered.
Jamal Mohamed was Managing Trustee of K M Allaudin Rowther Dharma Trust which has extensive Properties in and around Madurai.
Trouble started when one G Ganesan and others encroached on a small portion of the Property related to the Trust, worth Rs 30 crore and filed collusive suits without making it a party and changed the revenue record in their names,which were cancelled subsequently by Jamal Mohammed.
Jamal Mohamed was missing from Oct 31 2014. On Sept 8 2014 his body was found near Kodaikanal.
The DGPs counter said a total of 9,716 cases were filed in connection with land disputes other than that one related to disputes between family members, which includes real estate transactions, bodily offences for the past 10 years.
It also stated that several gangs were involved and cases were registered in almost all districts against them.
An impleading petition was filed by one Aruchamy of Coimbatore, n which he stated that one Ganeswar an accused had reportedly acquired thousands of acres using money generated from exorbitant interest business. He alleged that the man was in regular touch with many Police personnel, including top officials and provided details of the man's phone calls.
The judge after persuing them, directed the Inspector of Police, district Crime Branch, Coimbatore City, to appear before the Court on Apr 9 at 2.15PM.
He also directed the PP to file a report on properties possessed by aneshwar with regard to information provided by the petitioner.
The Judge also directed the DGP to provide appropriate protection to Aruchamy. The Judge after noting dissatisfaction over the details furnished by DGP, directed him to file more particulars and posted the matter for further hearing to Apr 9.
