Finish beautification of historical bldgs on priority: UP govt

Uttar Pradesh government today directed officials to complete beautification of historical buildings and development of river bank in the state capital on a priority basis.
Chief Secretary Alok Ranjan along with the Divisional Commissioner Mahesh Gupta, Secretary Urban Development S P Singh, District Magistrate Rajshekar made a surprised inspection of the beautification and development works being carried out in the capital city.
During the inspection, Ranjan directed that beautification of historical buildings, including Roomi Gate, Chhota Imambara, Clock Tower at Hussainabad should be done on a priority basis.
He directed that necessary action should be taken to check encroachment along with the bank of Gomti and that waste was not thrown in the river.
To promote tourism, he directed that an action plan should be prepared to promote river bank as a tourist spot.
