Jammu and Kashmir Vigilance Organisation today registered a case against three government officials for making illegal appointments in the year 2012.
"The Vigilance Organisation registered a case against Imtiyaz Ahmad Dar, the then Executive officer Municipal Committee Achabal (in Anantnag district) and other officials of the district on the allegations that they have entered into a criminal conspiracy in league with the beneficiaries during the period February to May 2012," an official spokesman said.
He said Dar and other two persons Kousar Ahmad Zargar and Gulzar Ahmad Magray, in connivance with each other have conferred undue pecuniary advantage upon the beneficiaries and thereby caused corresponding loss of Rs 1,86,004 to the state exchequer by way of drawing salary in favour of 12 non- deserving illegal and fraudulent regularised beneficiaries.
"In pursuance thereof, the accused public servants illegally, fraudulently and by abuse of their official position and in violation of rules, norms regulations made appointment and regularisation of 12 CPW's in the Municipal Committee Achabal," the spokesman said.
Meanwhile, in another case, the Court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption here today rejected the bail application of Nisar Ahmad Ahangar, an accused Patwari, who was caught while taking bribe of Rs 20,000 on June 17 at his residence in Kulgam.
The accused was on police remand and has now been lodged in judicial custody upto July 9, the spokesman said.
