Fire breaks out at peppermint godown in Chandni Chowk

A fire broke out at a peppermint godown in Chandni Chowk area this evening, injuring a fire operator, an official said.

A call was received at 5.05 pm about the blaze in the godown and nine fire tenders were rushed to the spot, the official said.

After the fire was doused by 6.55 pm, there was smoke observed in the godown following which two fire tenders were again rushed to the spot.

However, it was doused within a few minutes, he said.

Amit Rana,a fire operator, sustained 20 per cent burn injuries during the fire fighting operation.
