No casualties were reported from the spot as the blaze was brought under control within an hour's time after midnight with the help of six fire tenders.
The cause of the fire at Beadon Street and the extent of damage could not be ascertained immediately, officials said adding that a disaster management team has already reached the spot to monitor the situation.
