Cardamom futures rose 0.85% to Rs 696.50 per kg in futures trade today after speculators enlarged positions supported by rising spot market demand amid restricted arrivals from producing regions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in December was trading higher by Rs 5.90, or 0.85%, to Rs 696.50 per kg, with a business turnover of 136 lots.

The delivery in January 2016 also went up by Rs 5.10, or 0.68%, to Rs 745 per kg, with a trading volume of 75 lots.

Market analysts said the rise in cardamom prices at futures trade was mostly attributed to firm demand at the spot markets against tight supplies from producing belts.
