A 21-year-old man's first experience in voting today led to a rare interaction with Rahul Gandhi, with the two of them talking about the unexpected connections in their lives.

When the Congress vice president asked Brijesh Kumar about his background, the man replied that his ancestral home was in a Bhimnagar village under Amethi constituency of Uttar Pradesh while his residence in Delhi was located behind Rahul's bungalow at Tughlak lane.

Rahul represents the Amethi Lok Sabha constituency.

"I felt good when he asked about me. What is my name? From where do I belong? Where do I live here and things like that," Kumar said.

As the two waited in a queue to vote for Delhi polls at the polling booth number 88 at Nagar Palika co-ed senior secondary and primary school in Aurangazeb Lane, Kumar said he was nervous to be standing before a leader of Rahul's stature.

Clad in a white kurta-pyjama and a half-jacket, Rahul cast his ballot after standing in the queue for around 32 minutes.

He arrived at the polling booth at around 10.30 AM. Rahul had to stand in the queue behind 25 people.

The Delhi Assembly election is witnessing a triangular contest among Congress, BJP and Aam Admi Party.
