The accused - Kishor Patil, Balaram Bhagyavante, Aalesh Thorat, Devilal Patil and Meghanath Patil - held yesterday, had organised bullock-cart races in the village for the villagers, Thane Police Public Relations Officer Gajanan Kadbule said.
He said organising bullock-cart races have been banned in the county following an order of the Supreme Court.
The action was taken after video of the races went viral on social media, the officer said, adding all the accused have been granted bail by a local court.
