The special first day cover of the event to be brought out by India Posts will feature Ameshplant which grows on the icy slopes of the state between 1,800-3,300 metres in sub-alpine climatic conditions in the month of March-April and is famous for its medicinal values.
Rich in vitamins, the bushy plant, also called seabuck- thorn, was chosen for the first day cover by Governor Krishna Kant Paul to create awareness among people about its many qualities and promote its commercial cultivation in the state, a Raj Bhawan release here said.
