Director General of Police, S N Vashisth, presiding over a meeting of senior police functionaries, gave necessary directions to ensure free, fair and peaceful conduct of assembly elections in the state.
Besides, he also directed to ensure strict compliance of the model code of conduct, according to an official release here.
Vashisth said that security arrangements have been tightened along the border areas adjoining neighboring states.
"Also, directions have been issued to nab the proclaimed offenders. Apart from this, paramilitary forces would be deployed on the sensitive and hyper-sensitive polling booths in the state," he added.
Haryana goes to polls on October 15.
