Deputy Forest Ranger Sahil Khan, and two locals, namely, Dhansinh Kanwar (65) and Shatruhn Sidar (35), were killed in a bear attack in Navagaon forest, a district police official told PTI.
Kanwar had gone to his field this morning while Sidar was out to collect mahua flowers. When the two didn't return home, their relatives started a search and found their bodies with a female bear nearby.
When a team of police and forest officials reached the spot, the bear suddenly attacked Khan, killing him too. It was shot dead on the spot before it could attack others.
