A former aide of Malaysian opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim, who had accused him of sodomy, is planning to marry a television newscaster later this month.
Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan will marry TV personality Nik Suriyani Megat Deraman.
According to Nik Suryani, 33, the couple will hold their marriage solemnisation ceremony in her hometown of Kuala Terengganu.
Nik Suryani said she got engaged to Saiful on October 28.
Asked how the couple became acquainted, she said they had known each other for over two years.
Saiful, 29, had lodged a police report, accusing Anwar of sodomising him on June 29, 2008.
Anwar was charged with committing the offence but was acquitted on January 9 last year.
The prosecution has filed an appeal.
