Zhu was found guilty of using his power, when he held public posts between 2002 and 2014, to seek profits for others bidding for projects and land, and aided personnel to secure promotions, according to a statement from the Liuzhou City Intermediate People's Court in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
During the period, Zhu's positions included director of Chongqing public security bureau, Standing Committee member of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Guangdong Provincial Committee, and deputy secretary of CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.
All his assets from unknown sources have been confiscated, the statement added.
