Former Infosys senior vice president Chandrashekar Kakal has joined mid-sized IT services firm L&T Infotech as its chief operating officer (COO).
L&T Infotech is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro, a USD 14 billion conglomerate.
Kakal, whose resignation effective March this year from Infosys marked the ninth senior level exit from Infosys, will also be inducted on the board of L&T Infotech.
He had joined the Bangalore-based firm in 1999 and held operational responsibility for the India business unit, application development, maintenance, testing and infrastructure management services worldwide. He also serves on the board of Infosys BPO.
There have been more than 10 senior level exits in the past months including those of Infosys board members V Balakrishnan and Ashok Vemuri.
IT industry body Nasscom ranked L&T Infotech No 8 among IT services companies in India in 2012-13.
