Former minister Sentichuba Ao passes away

Senior Congress leader of Nagaland and a former minister T Sentichuba Ao passed away at Dimapur yesterday, family members said.
He was 80.
A veteran legislator, he was first elected to the state Assembly in 1969 from Yisemyong, now Angetyongpang Assembly constituency on United Front Nagaland ticket and later changed to United Democratic Front.
He was elected six times from the same constituency.
Ao, who had joined the Congress in 1998, was also the former president of the Ao Students Conference, an apex body of Mokokchung district during 1965-67.

Condoling Setichuba's demise, Nagaland Chief Minister T R Zeliang cherished the years of association with him (Sentichuba) in various capacities when both of them served under the Chief Ministership of S C Jamir.

Zeliang described Sentichuba as "humble person who was always cheerful and ever ready to advise his younger colleagues".
"His political maturity and sagacity were qualities we all appreciated and admired," the CM said while conveying heartfelt condolences to the wife of late Sentichuba.
