Former Nepal PM to embark on 6-day visit to India tomorrow

Former Nepal Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba will embark on a 6-day visit to India tomorrow during which he will meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and other senior leaders to discuss bilateral relations and the latest political developments in his country.
The senior leader of Nepali Congress (NC) is visiting India at the invitation of the government of India.
During the visit, Deuba will meet Prime Minister Singh, other senior leaders of various political parties and the Nepalese community residing in India, Nepali Congress central member Bimalenda Nidhi, who is accompanying Deuba, told PTI.
Arju Deuba, spouse of the former Prime Minister, will also be accompanying him.
On June 11, Deuba will meet Singh and discuss about the latest political developments in Nepal, according to sources close to Deuba.
Issues relating to Nepal-India bilateral relations, the ongoing peace process of Nepal, the forthcoming Constituent Assembly elections and economic development will mainly feature during the talks.
On the same day, Deuba will deliver a speech at ORF (Observer Research Foundation) on 'Political Developments in Nepal with reference to the Constituent Assembly polls'.
Foreign Secretary Ranjan Mathai and National Security Adviser Shivshankar Menon will call on Deuba on June 10 at Maurya Hotel, where he will stay.
External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid will host a launch in honour of Deuba at Hyderabad House on the same day.
On June 12, Deuba will visit Uttarakhand where he will meet the Chief Minister.
He will also meet Nepali Community residing in Dehradun and get first hand information about a hydro-power plant there.
Sharad Yadav, Mulayam Singh Yadav, Karan Singh, Rajnath Singh, DP Tripathi are some of the political leaders with whom Deuba will hold meetings in Delhi.
Deuba will return on Friday on completion of the visit.
