Former officer arrested
Haque, who was absconding since last week, was arrested from a hotel in the state capital last night.
The Nalbari Deputy Commissioner had conducted an inquiry into the alleged misappropiation of funds and submitted the report to the chief minister.
Haque had retired from service on March 31 last.
Meanwhile, Upper Division Assistant Haladhar Barman had also been arrested on Thursday last in this connection, police said.
