The police found mark sheets of 36 candidates from their possession and also seized several mobile phones, headsets, cameras and other devices, said Additional Superintendent of Police Alok Priyadarshi.
The modus operandi of the gang was to provide answers to job aspirants through phones for which they would charge up to Rs six lakh, he said.
Yesterday, the gang members were caught while they were helping some candidates cheat during the examination for recruitment of Excise Constables. However, three other members of the gang escaped, said Priyadarshi.
The group used to keep the mark sheets of the job aspirants as security and would return it only after getting paid for their services, he said.
The police have sent the accused to jail and a hunt is on for others.
