Four govt employees held in bribery cases in MP

In three separate incidents, Lokayukta police today caught four government employees for allegedly accepting bribes collectively worth around Rs 55,000, officials said.
The incidents took place in Dindori, Barwani and Satna districts of Madhya Pradesh.
"In the first incident, Vijay Patel, a clerk working in the office of Mehdwani block education officer, was caught accepting a bribe of Rs 27,000 from a teacher Ramesh Masram in Dindori district," Lokayukta Deputy Superintendent of Police H D Choudhary said.
He said Patel had demanded bribe from Masram to clear his dues.
In the second case, the City Chief Municipal Officer Dinesh Jamre, along with a Sub Engineer (SE) Shailesh Panwar were held taking a bribe of Rs 20,000 from one contractor Anees Ahmad Sheikh in Barwani district, Lokayukta DSP V S Parihar said.
Panwar on behalf of Jamre had demanded the bribe from Anees to clear his bill of over Rs five lakh. Anees has carried out some construction work of the stadium at Rajpur area, he said.
In Satna district, a patwari (a reveue department official) Vijaykant Namdeo was arrested taking a bribe of Rs 8,000 from one Ravendra Gautam. The accused had sought bribe from Gautam to get a tract of land mutated in his name, Lokayukta police inspector V V Tiwari said.
All the four accused have been booked under the relevant sections of Prevention of Corruption Act and further investigations are on, Lokayukta police said.
