The incident occurred around 11.30 pm last night near Duvvur town in the district when the four-wheeler in which they were travelling crashed into the protection wall of the bridge and subsequently fell down, they said.
"In the mishap, the driver and three Ayyappa devotees died on the spot, while three others sustained severe injuries," Mydukuru Police Station Circle Inspector Nagbhushanam said.
The deceased were identified as A Devaiah, K Saidulu, P Rajender Reddy and P Balanarayana, all of whom were aged between 40 and 45 years. They were natives of Nagarkurnool in Mahabubnagar district of Telangana, the police officer said.
After conducting the post-mortem, the victims' bodies were handed over to their kin. The injured are undergoing treatment at a hospital.
