Four persons killed, 11 injured in accident

Four members of a marriage party were killed and 11 others were injured when a pick up van overturned near Gopidih in adjoining Seraikela-Kharswan district, a senior police officer today said.
The pick up van was carrying the members of the marriage party from Galudih, about 35 km from here, to Bababamboo in Seraikela-Kharswan district when the mishap took place.
Superintendent of Police Indrajeet Mahatha said in an attempt to overtake the pick up van, a speeding vehicle coming from behind went ahead and suddenly applied brakes.
The pick up van, which had also picked up speed, applied brake to prevent collision but overturned, he said .

While two persons were killed on the spot, two others succumbed to injuries at the hospital, he said.
The district police personnel immediately rushed the injured to M G M hospital, where doctors referred five seriously injured to Tata Main Hospital, he said.
