Fresh batch of 3,139 pilgrims leave for Amarnath cave shrine

Amid tight security, a fresh batch of 3,139 pilgrims today left for the cave shrine of Amarnath in the south Kashmir Himalyas.
"A fresh batch of 3,139 pilgrims, including 700 females and 101 sadhus in over 93 vehicles left the Jammu base camp towards Kashmir this evening to perform the pilgrimage to the holy cave shrine," Deputy Commissioner (DC) Jammu Simrandeep Singh said.
The Amarnath yatra, which had remained suspended for two days following the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen Commander Burhan Wani resumed on Monday.
