Police officers said Sinha, who went underground since the allegations were made against him last Monday, was on his way to surrender before the Court on the day.
But the local Mangalabag police intercepted and took him under custody, they said adding, he was later produced before the court of the SDJM here in the evening from where he was released on bail.
A first year student of the School had brought the allegations against the instructor and when no action was taken against the accused, some irate students vandalised the school premises damaging properties, including equipment in the mechanical workshop.
Meanwhile, normalcy returned to the school campus today and classes were held as usual without any untoward incident.
However, police deployment inside the campus continues as a precautionary measure, said Mangalabag police inspector Mr A K Swain.
