The Opposition staged the walk out after grabbing the opportunity to corner the government when BJP MLA Kunwarji Kothar raised the issue of power problem in Rajgarh district during the Question Hour.
Kothar said that rich people who owe huge amounts as electricity dues to power distribution company were getting unhindered power supply, while poor farmers were being penalised for delay in clearing their dues and are being denied energy.
Speaker Sitasharan Sharma requests for calm went unheeded and Congress legislators created a furore and walked out of the House.
Other BJP members including Neena Verma, Vishnu Khatree and Anchal Sonkar, too, put their government in an embarrassing situation.
Verma raised the issue relating to seizure of a truck with illegal liquor in Dhar district, demanding that proper action should be taken against the accused and no one should be spared in bootlegging.
Another ruling party member Khatree raised the issue of electricity transformers. He placed BJP in a tight spot when he objected to the reply of Energy Minister Shukla saying that it was incorrect and the transformers which develop snags were not being changed in three-day time.
Likewise, Sonkar said that liquor bar shops in Jabalpur did not have parking space and as a result, traffic jams and bloody street fights were becoming a norm.
Also, they were serving liquors till 2 AM.
