"GACL is running 12 individual plants in Vadodara Complex and 11 plants in Dahej Complex. Some of these plants are of very small capacity, mainly set up to consume the excess Chlorine or Hydrochloric Acid and some of these plants are running at losses," the company said in a filing to the BSE.
"The Calcium Chloride plant of Vadodara Complex is incurring losses. In order to improve the profitability of the company, the management has decided to close this plant and mothball it for some time till the mode of disposal of this plant is decided. The management is exploring the options to sell or otherwise dispose off the plant," it added.
