Gang of bank robbers busted, 7 held

Meerut Police today claimed to have busted a gang of bank robbers, who were involved in last month's bank robbery with the arrest of seven of its members.
Acting on a tip-off, Special Operation Group (SOG) and Partapur police apprehended seven persons near village Bhuvi, SSP Depak Kumar said, adding the team has solved last month's Allahabad bank robbery at Dhaulari branch here.
During interrogation, the accused confessed their involvement in bank robbery, in which they robbed around Rs 42 lakh, he said.
A cache of arms including two 315 bore pistols, 2 kg silver and gold ornaments weighing 380 grams were recovered from their possession, he said.
