The green panel expressed displeasure over his reported comments and directed the senior most official from National Mission on Clean Ganga (NMCG) to be present before it tomorrow.
"Have you gone through the newspaper report in which some official has made certain comments to the media blaming us. Your officials are so irresponsible. They should know what to speak while speaking to the press. First read the newspaper report. You call your senior-most official to appear before us tomorrow," a bench headed by NGT Chairperson Justice Swatanter Kumar said.
It quoted an official as saying "It is felt at times that the NGT may be going beyond its mandate or making very harsh observations", a remark which the NGT bench took cognizance of.
