The 52-year-old actor was picked up by police at the Caesars Windsor casino in Canada in February, with video footage later emerging that appeared to show him lying unconscious prior to his arrest, reported E! online.
Lopez opened up about the situation during an interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show earlier this week.
"The police were very polite. They told me, they said, 'Sir, this behaviour cannot continue and if it does continue we would be honoured if you would be mayor of Toronto," Lopez said.
"Since then I have not had a drop of alcohol. That was a nice going-away party for that guy and then I'm the new George now sitting here in front of you," Lopez said.
