Ghaziabad traffic police challans 2,602 vehicles

Ghaziabad traffic police has challaned 2,602 vehicles and recovered a fine of Rs 2,35,000 in past two weeks.
Ghaziabad police is celebrating 'Traffic Month' and the traffic police has launched traffic awareness programme and challaned errant drivers.
Senior Superintendent of Police Deepak Kumar Singh said that traffic jam is the biggest problem on the roads which can be sort out with the co-ordination of traffic and civil police.
Vehical drivers and owners can also play vital in this movement.
To provide congestion free roads police is working on three points programme - engineering, education and enforcement.
Firstly with the help of Ghaziabad development authority, Nagar Nigam and Public Works Department (PWD) all the dilapidated road dividers, traffic signals will be repaired and replaced respectively.
Zebra crossing, stop lines will be repainted and maintained.
Secondly awareness programme will be initiated in the schools, colleges and on the roads through workshops and pamphlets, Singh said.
Finally during enforcement programme which is going on since November 1, traffic police has challaned 2,602 vehicles and recovered a fine of Rs 2,35,000 for not wearing helmets, vehicles for plying on wrong side, pressure horns, triple-riding, jumping red-light, driving without seat belts, and without license.
