The company, which follows July-June financial year, had posted a net profit of Rs 15.14 crore in the same period of the previous fiscal, Gillette India said in a filing to the BSE.
The company's net sales increased to Rs 438.93 crore in the July-September quarter, up 13.36 per cent from Rs 387.17 crore in the same period last year.
"Profit after tax increased to Rs 18 crore, up 17 per cent versus last year, behind productivity driven cost savings and operational excellence," the company said in a statement.
Revenue from portable power segment also increased to Rs 20.88 crore this quarter. It was Rs 18.22 crore in first quarter of last year.
While, revenue from oral care segment stood at Rs 113.06 crore this quarter as against Rs 98.07 crore in the year-ago period.
The company's shares were trading 0.01 per cent up at Rs 2,804 per scrip during afternoon session on the BSE.
