The body was found hanging from a tree yesterday near Kherashwar temple in the Lodha area here.
Police said that the deceased has been identified as Madhu (20), a resident of Hardaspur village.
The girl, who was to be married shortly, had a tiff with her mother yesterday over some minor issue following which she took the extreme step, police added.
The body was identified after the victim's father, Singhveer Singh, a labourer, approached police and told them that the girl was none other than his eldest daughter, said local police spokesman Udai Veer Malik.
