Gitanjali Q2 net profit up 40 pc at Rs 63 cr

Gitanjali Gems today posted a 40.18 per cent jump in its consolidated net profit at Rs 63.80 crore in the September quarter of the current fiscal.
The company's net profit stood at Rs 45.51 crore in the year-ago period, Gitanjali Gems said in a regulatory filing.
Its total income declined marginally to Rs 3,902 crore in the July-September period of the 2017-18 fiscal from Rs 3,997.75 crore in the year-ago period.
However, expenses remained lower at Rs 3,832.79 crore in the second quarter of this fiscal as against Rs 3,952.73 crore in the same period last year.
Shares of the company fell 1.19 per cent to close at Rs 70.65 apiece on NSE today.
