GJM supporters led by the party chief Bimal Gurung took out the procession and shouted slogan like "Go back Mamata".
Trinamool Congress alleged that the GJM activists have torn the pictures of Banerjee and posters of the party.
Mamata Banerjee who was on the street, was seen greeting the hill people and the tourists.
TMC supporters organised a procession in Kurseong demanding arrest of the GJM chief Bimal Gurung in Madan Tamang murder case.
She had stated that her government had given recognition to Nepali language. Public service examination could also be taken in Nepali now, she had said.
Banerjee had said, "GTA (Gorkhaland Territorial Administration) elections are coming. They do not have any issue. So they are trying to drive a wedge between Nepali and Bengali".
In the recent municipal election in the hill, GJM had lost the civic body in Mirik, to TMC. The GJM had, however, won in Darjeeling, Kalimpong and Kurseong.
