To boost solar power in developing nations, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had last month unveiled ISA with French President Francois Hollande at the Paris COP21 climate summit.
"International Solar Alliance (ISA) launched in Paris by PM @narendramodi and President @fhollande will spearhead world efforts on solar energy," Power and Coal Minister tweeted.
"While the world was debating 'Inconvenient Truths', PM @narendramodi had already initiated 'Convenient Action'," the tweet said further.
"Saw PM @narendramodi play the statesman role at COP21 bringing together the developed and the developing world to save the planet."
Stating that India has embarked "on 5x growth to 175 GW of renewable energy by 2022", Goyal tweeted: "India has a long tradition of harmonious co-existence between man and nature and will be a Jagat Guru for world adopting a sustainable lifestyle."
The power ministry in an official statement said the minister will tomorrow launch the mobile app for star-labelled appliances.
The mobile application will allow consumers to instantly compare personalised energy savings across all products of a specific class and enable them to choose more efficient products available in the market.
On the occasion of National Energy Conservation Day, the Ministry of Power and Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) will tomorrow felicitate school students for the National Painting Competition and companies that have been the best energy performer across various sectors.
Goyal will inaugurate the National Energy Conservation Day as well.
Awards will also be given away to industries, commercial buildings, the railways, financial institutions and discoms, among others, to recognise their efforts towards adoption of energy-efficient technologies and practices.
