General Officer Commanding, Rising Star Corps, Lt Gen J S Nain visited Jammu-based Tiger Division and reviewed the operational preparedness of the forces in the corps zone, a defence spokesperson said on Thursday.
Lt Gen Nain asked the troops to be vigilant towards the external threats facing the country. He also complimented them for stellar duty being performed against all adds, the spokesperson said.
"The GOC visited 'Tiger Division' on April 9-10 to review the operational preparedness of the forces in the corps zone," he said.
During his two-day visit, the spokesperson said the corps commander also interacted with state Governor Satya Pal Malik, Advisor to Governor K Vijay Kumar and Chief Secretary B V R Subrahmanyam.
Issues ranging from the current security situation, external threats and the ongoing Lok Sabha elections were discussed, he said.
