Delhi Police has also sought 15 more days time to complete its probe against IM co-founder Yasin Bhatkal and his close aide Asadullah Akhtar in the 2010 Jama Masjid terror attack case.
The special cell of Delhi Police has moved a plea before Additional Sessions Judge Daya Prakash in which it said it has received an input from Central Intelligence Agency according to which an absconding IM terrorist in the case is "moving in the areas of eastern Bihar and south Kerala".
"A breakthrough is likely in a short period of time. With the arrest of this wanted terrorist, the missing links in the conspiracy are likely to be established which requires that period of investigation and judicial custody of these accused persons be extended," the special cell said.
Seeking court's permission to extend the period of ongoing investigation by 15 more days, the special cell said they were collecting more evidence against Bhatkal, Akhtar and other absconding accused in the case and it was taking time as network of IM spreads over many states in India.
The court has allowed the plea filed by the police.
According to police, on September 19, 2010, two bikers had fired upon tourists at the gate of Jama Masjid in here and two Taiwanese, Ku-Ze-Wei and Ko-chiange, sustained bullet injuries whereas a bomb was fitted in a car parked in the area.
