A section of employees from the health department also joined the stir.
However, the state government refused to budge.
Health minister Ahmed Hasan said that "unjustified" demands of the striking employees would not be accepted.
Meanwhile, leader of 'Rajya Karamchari Adhikaar Manch', which is spearheading the stir, Hari Kishore Tiwari, retorted by asking the government to spell out which of their demand was unjustified.
"The government should tell us which of our demand is wrong...There has not been any further initiative on the part of the state government...No one is ready to talk....They could atleast have started by accepting the ones that they think are justified," Tiwari said.
The lab technicians have also warned of disrupting the emergency health services in case the 15 point charter of demands are not met by November 20, Tiwari said.
Earlier, talks between the leaders of the striking employees and Principal Secretary personnel Rajiv Kumar on November 13 failed to reach a conclusion.
The government claimed yesterday that the strike was "unsuccessful".
In a statement here, a government spokesman claimed that reports of the strike creating an impact on essential services and loss of revenue was "false". He said paramedical staff in several districts, including Varanasi, have decided not to participate in the strike.
