BJP's youth wing today alleged that the Jammu and Kashmir government has failed to address the problems being faced by the youths in the state.
"The government has totally failed to address the problems being faced by the youth in Jammu and Kashmir," Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) state president Ravinder Raina said here while addressing the Morcha activists.
Raina, while addressing the meeting, said the Congress and the National Conference government has thoroughly ignored the youth who are considered the future of the country and the youth are being forcefully pushed towards darkness."
He said that the lack of youth-oriented policies and subsequent lack of attention towards them has led to a feeling of disenchantment among the youth.
The employment schemes announced by the government in the recent past turned into centres of corruption and nepotism, he said, adding that the schemes like 'Udaan' and 'Himayat' "ridicules" the youth.
Despite being declared a historic initiative Sher-e-Kashmir Employment and Welfare Programme for Youth (SKEWPY) which was announced in 2010 with much fanfare has disappointed the educated youth, Raina said.
Addressing the meeting, IGP (retd) Farooq Khan said spirit of the youth need to be channelised and utilised in a proper way so that their energy is channelised.
