Satyajeet Rajan, director general, Union ministry of tourism, made a suggestion in this regard while addressing the second edition of Global MICE Travel Mart, a MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, events/exhibitions) in- bound tourism platform in the country, a FICCI statement said today.
The event was organised by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) in association with the ministry of tourism.
Concurring with the view of stakeholders, Rajan said that there was a need to provide incentives to this sector to make it competitive in the world market.
On the occasion, a FICCI-MRSS Knowledge Paper on 'MICE: Tourism Powerhouse of a New Era' was also unveiled.
