Chaudhury told reporters on the sidelines of his reviewing the 41st passing out parade of the North Eastern Police Academy near here, that all states have been asked to be alert, "especially at the borders".
Stating that all central agencies were working to negate the threat, the Union Minister said, "The personnel at the international border have been asked to be alert."
"Nobody can escape the law. Chetia has to go through the legal process (for his criminal acts)," he said.
Chetia, who was in Bangladesh since his arrest by the neighbouring country's police in 1997, was handed over to India on November 11 following which he was arrested by CBI in Delhi the next day.
Chetia was arrested in connection with a murder in Golaghat (Assam) and the investigation agency had taken him under its custody on a six-day transit remand.
He was brought to Guwahati on November 18 and produced in the SJM CBI Court the same day to be sent to five-days CBI remand that day.
Chetia was today remanded to another 14 days of judicial custody.
