The decision to supply free electricity for Chhath Puja by the power utility service has been taken as part of its corporate social responsibility, H R Panday, Deputy General Manager (Public Relation) Bihar State Power (Holding) Company Limited said in a statement here.
The puja organising committees have been asked to provide details like quantum of power required and the places where it is going to be supplied, to the Executive Engineer of the concerned area, Pandey said.
The Bihar Power Company DGM said the decision to provide free electricity has been taken to provide convenience to the public during the celebrations.
Streets of Patna and the bank of river Ganga are tastefully decorated with fancy lights. A number of search lights are placed at important junctures in the state capital for convenience of people.
