Action Committee of all trade unions of state owned AFT mill today urged the administration to ensure that all the 900 workers and staff who had retired between June 2011 and till now were paid gratuity and other statutory benefits.
AITUC General Secretary and president of the action committee V S Abishegam said in a release that the committee had held a meeting to review the situation of the defunct mill and also the delay on the part of the government to settle the gratuity and other benefits of the workers who had retired either on attaining age of superannuation or preferred to retire under VRS.
